Information Architecture of Artificial Intelligence
You cannot open a publication, scan your social channels or go to a conference without encountering someone talking about artificial intelligence. AI as our salvation. AI as our oppressive overlord.
User experience now includes "machine experience" as algorithms interact with design. However, machine users do not act, engage or think like human ones. As artificial intelligence and machine learning increase in power and prevalence, how can we ensure that serves human needs, and not the other way around?
UX for machine intelligence is an experience that is calculated, not observed. It is predicted based on past behavior rather than informed by human understanding. It is determined by machine intelligence rather than guided by empathetic, collaborative design thinking.
In this workshop, we will explore the intersections between AI, information architecture, design, user experience and content strategy. With this foundation, we will reveal prescriptive guidance on how to design so that the system learns to deliver what you intend.
